You could go out to a different place every day for 10 years in London and still not do everything!
London is home to world class theatre, cinemas, bars, nightclubs, comedy clubs, museums, galleries and exhibitions for all the family! You'll never be bored!
There's the world-famous hop-on, hop-off bus tours of London; you can see the whole of London (and as far away as Windsor Castle, 25 miles away, on a clear day) from the London Eye; visit Buckingham Palace and see the Changing of the Guard or stroll through the royal parks – Regent's Park, Hyde Park, Green Park, Kensington Gardens and St. James's Park.
If you're interested in London's rich and varied history which stretches all the way back to Roman times, you can see the ruins of the original London Wall as well as exploring the centuries old City of London with its bizarre street names, narrow alleys, cobbled streets and famous landmarks. You can also visit St. Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament as well as the Bank of England, the Royal Exchange and the Monument to the Great Fire of London in 1666.
For the more hardy souls amongst you, you can explore Jack the Ripper's London, including all the places where his victims were found as well as having a drink in the Ten Bells pub in Whitechapel where the women were known to drink. There are also tours of 'haunted London' where ghosts, ghouls and other assorted spooks are said to have 'appeared' over the years.
Most of the major museums and galleries in London are free including the Science Museum, the British Museum and the Natural History Museum as well as the National Gallery, and the National Portrait Gallery and they are well worth a visit. The collections are amazing and there are always pop-up exhibitions and special events happening so check the websites before you arrive to make sure you don't miss anything.
